Where VeloCapture’s data comes from, and how it ranks
VeloCapture reads official public records first — SAM.gov, Grants.gov, USAspending, CMS and NPPES, SEC filings and state and city procurement portals — then licensed feeds and the bid alerts a customer forwards. It filters on free data before any paid lookup, ranks each lead and bid by fit with the evidence shown, and never buys or resells contact lists.

Which public sources does VeloCapture read?
| Source | What it gives |
|---|---|
| SAM.gov | Federal contract opportunities, entity registrations, contracting-officer contacts named on notices |
| Grants.gov | Federal grant opportunities |
| USAspending | Awards, sub-awards and spending history — who bought what, from whom |
| CMS (Care Compare, Provider of Services, cost reports, Open Payments) | Hospital facts, quality and financial signals, keyed by CMS certification number |
| NPPES | The national healthcare provider registry |
| SEC EDGAR | Company filings and named officers |
| State and city open-data portals | Open state and local bids and contract registers |
What licensed and customer-supplied data does it use?
On top of the public records, VeloCapture reads licensed opportunity feeds, and the bid alerts a customer already receives, forwarded by email into their own workspace. A customer’s own lead lists can be uploaded and stay that customer’s.
What does VeloCapture not do with data?
- It does not buy or resell contact-data lists.
- It does not send customer data to a data broker or a contact-data vendor.
- It does not mix one customer’s data into another’s workspace — isolation is enforced by the database.
How are leads ranked?
Each organisation is scored for fit against the customer’s profile on a fixed 100-point scale, from facts in the records above. Timing evidence — a dated, cited event such as a regulatory penalty or a leadership change — is scored separately. Tier A needs both strong fit and recent timing evidence; a strong fit with no timing evidence ranks lower until something changes.
Free data filters first: paid enrichment runs only on leads that pass the filter, and a person reviews only the top tiers.
How are bids scored?
Each opportunity is checked against hard gates (registration, set-aside eligibility, required certifications, deadline) and then scored 0–100 on fit, past performance, competition, price, capacity and contract-vehicle access, with the evidence shown beside the verdict.
Does AI decide anything on its own?
No. AI drafts briefs, responses and outreach, and a brief cites the evidence it was given. A person approves anything that is sent or submitted.
